Notes[]

  • This episode is only 28-minutes. It was originally a super-sized episode, but was cut down to accommodate the preceding 32-minute "Friends" episode and so that "The Apprentice" could air at 9:00.
  • Edie Falco was originally asked to play Ann, but her schedule wouldn't allow it. She was able to appear a month later as Deirdre in the episode East Side Story.
  • This is the last appearance of Lois, Karen's mother, although her storyline does inspire an ongoing arc in which Will and Grace redecorate and sell apartments for profit.
  • Christopher Backus who played Adam in this episode would later marry Mira Sorvino who played Diane in Last Ex to Brooklyn.

Cultural references[]

  • Jack reads on In Touch Weekly magazine an article about singer-actress Mandy Moore and tennis player Andy Roddick. The two would end their relationship later that year.
    • Karen also mentions actress Brooke Shields and tennis player Andre Agassi who were married from 1997 to 1999. She mentions that Shields' show stayed on the air, referring to Suddenly Susan (1996-2000), which was a ratings success despite being panned by critics. Karen also jokes about Agassi's hair, who became known for his shoulder-length mullet (a hairpiece), which he stopped wearing to sport a balder look.

Oh, please. Let me tell you something. Will Truman doesn't have to pay for it, okay? Will Truman just goes months and months at a time without it and then pours all his sexual energy into his embroidery. Willto Adam
